Our nursery curriculum is designed to give every child the best possible start to their learning journey. Through a nurturing, stimulating and play-based environment, we encourage children to explore, discover and develop at their own pace. Our carefully planned experiences support children’s curiosity, creativity, confidence and independence, while building the skills and foundations they need for a happy and successful transition into school.

Reviewing our curriculum
On a regular basis we review our practice and the impact our curriculum is having. We invite families into the setting and ask for their feedback, showing us how each child is flourishing. We also use the children’s folder to evaluate how each child is learning new key skills. Evaluating these folders allows us to be able to see each child’s development over the years. Staff also have personal supervisions and reflection times for them to reflect upon what the children have been provided with. Diving into ensuring all areas have been met, and learning has happened over the course of this time. Staff then use this to further the planning and using professional development to look at ways of improving the environment and opportunities the children have been given.
By evaluating it ensures we are continuing to ensure our curriculum is ambitious, inclusive and effective for all the children at buttercups nursery school.
